My executive team
Nottingham City Council’s executive is made up of 10 portfolio holders, elected Councillors who each have responsibility for a certain area.
My team and I are working hard to deliver the Council’s top five priorities to:
- Ensure every child in Nottingham is taught in a school judged good or outstanding by OFSTED
- Build 2500 new homes that Nottingham people can afford to rent or buy
- Cut the number of victims of crime by a fith and continue to reduce anti-social behaviour
- Tackle fuel poverty by setting up a not-for-profit energy company to sell enery at the lowest possible price to Nottingham people
- Guarantee a job, training place or further education place for every 18-24 year old
There are currently 10 Portfolio Holders who form my executive team.
Cllr Jon Collins, Regeneration and Growth
Within this Portfolio, I look after major regeneration in the city centre, as well as having an overview of all regeneration activity across the city.
Cllr Graham Chapman, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Finance, Resources and Commercial Services
Cllr Chapman is responsible for the overall budget of the Council, for managing our HR, our reputation, economic development, infrastructure and neighbourhood Regeneration.
Cllr David Mellen, Portfolio Holder for Early Intervention and Early Years.
Cllr Mellen has responsibility for all Children’s Services including Children’s Safeguarding, Children in Care and Children’s Disability Services.
Cllr Sally Longford, Portfolio Holder for Energy and Environment.
Cllr Clark’s portfolio includes Robin Hood Energy, climate change and carbon reduction, nature conservation and waste disposal.
Cllr Jane Urquhart, Portfolio Holder for Housing and Planning
Cllr Urquhart oversees all planning policy and development management, as well as taking responsibility for the tram, flood management and housing regeneration.
Cllr Dave Liversidge, Portfolio Holder for Transport and HR
Cllr Dave Liversidge’s Portfolio includes Nottingham City Transport, traffic management and parking, highways design and maintenance, taxi strategy and HR and transformation.
Cllr Sam Webster, Portfolio Holder for Adults Health and Social Care
Cllr Norris holds the responsibility for corporate strategies for older people and support for vulnerable adults as well as leading on public health.
Cllr Dave Trimble, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Localities.
Cllr Trimble’s Portfolio includes parks, playgrounds, leisure centres, museums, libraries and venues such as the Ice Arena and Playhouse. He also has responsibility for markets, fairs and public toilets.
Cllr Toby Neal, Portfolio Holder for Community Protection.
Cllr Toby Neal oversees community safety and respect for Nottingham, trading standards, licensing and environmental health and also takes a lead role with the community and volunteering. sector.
Cllr Neghat Khan, Portfolio Holder for Education and Skills
Cllr Webster responsibilities include all aspects of schooling including education improvement, admissions and attendance.
